Raising new economic generation in focus

The young people potentially becoming entrepreneurs and the already enterprising youth were highly paid attention by the world’s 120 countries between 2011 November 14 and 20. Young Entrepreneurs Week as part of the world movement Global Entrepreneurship Week was held on the third occasion on 17th November in the cooperation of the Young Entrepreneurs Association Hungary (FIVOSZ) and the Enterprise Europe Network office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya.
Honsa Kft creates new workplaces in Pécs. The German motor industrial company employs 50 employees, due to the billion investment. They got 100 million Ft non-refundable assistance to the investment due to the New Széchenyi Plan. The official tradition of the new institution was held 10th November 2011.
Széchenyi Card celebrating its jubilee
The 150 thousandth Széchenyi Card and the first Agrarian Széchenyi Card were also given in Baranya.
BIB Cluster laid foundation of its operation by competition-assistance

As a result of the now closing European Union Project the “GVOP-2006-1.1.3-B Biotechnology Innovation Base Cluster service development” the strengthening of the micro-and small businesses of Baranya, operating on the field of biotechnology, and the improvement of their marketability were succeeded to be realized.
Clusters and professional training – the common point
Professional requests of the enterprises, departments come into crisis, are delivered continuously to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya. The Chamber tries to help every enterprise being in trouble with its own devices and with the maximum utilization of its possibilities. On 27th October 2011, leaders of the Pécs Glove Cluster and the Simonyi Károly Technical and Vocational School consulted about the possibilities of introducing glove-maker professional trainings that would be able to reduce the actual incredible high unemployment rate by preparing and employing new experts.

The Ipark Pécs Ltd. Was established last year by the City of Pécs and by an Austrian investor. Now the Ipark Pécs South offers the opportunity of having there location to larger companies, while the „PIP” (Pécs Industrial Park) awaits smaller companies, primarily engaged in production.
There are many interested enterprises. Now building lands will be marked out, after that, the public utilities will be built up. At the end of this process, 30 acres will be parceled.

The CCI of Pécs-Baranya and the Fair-Expo Ltd. are organising one of the most visited trade exhibitons and fairs for the 16th time in Pécs, from the 25th to the 27th March of 2011.
After the Congress

Thursday night Dr. István Kéri greeted presented a welcome to the participants on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya in the Cathedral. After the welcome speech Szabolcs Szamosi (organ) artist, Ádám Graf (trumpet) artist and the Choir Unicum Laude gave a concerted amongst the thousand-year old walls with great success.
After the concert Bishop Mihály Mayer and President Dr. László Parragh greeted the leaders of the Chambers in his privatethe garden of the Bishop’s palace. At the welcome reception President Dr. László Parragh welcomed the delegates too. The outdoor floodlights and the illuminated towersing of the cathedral and the palace were perfect background to the reception and discussions.
After the reception, we visitedGuests were guided the to the Cella Septichora, which is part of the World Heritage locations in Pécs. Walking on the streets of the underground necropolis we could see the illuminated cathedral through the glass sidewalk. As Mr. Maurizio Salce from the Chamber of Trieste have referred the next day on the Congress, Roma max give provided also this kind of experience.
Late at During the night, many guests enjoyed the beauty of the city, walking through the new squares and the inner-city streets.
The next day atThe opening speech of the Congress was hold by Mayor Zsolt Páva who greeted the leaders of the Chambers, the economic diplomats and businessmen. In his speech he highlighted that in the multi-cultural and multi-ethnic city of Pécs the nationalities live together in peace for centuries., in creative work. The city received plenty of prestigious awards for this attitudes. He hoped that the Cultural Capital of Europe title and this Congress could help spread the cultural spirituality of Pécs and the development of economic relations in Central Europe.
Menuta Iovescu, the Chief Commissioner of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture of Timisoara handed the Award of Excellence to the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya.
At the sSection mMeetings we could listenthere were very interesting presentations from some topics such as the discount credit system for small businesses, to the joint energy procurement of the SMEs, the Internet marketing opportunities and development of the knowledge economy.
At five o'clock we could hardly close the Section Meetings were halted so that the participants had to hurry to travelup back to the hotels because and prepare for the transfers to Villány. The Blum Cellars Vinery rooms were all crowded where athe fantastic concert of swine songs ofperformed by Bordalnokok made laid a solidthe fund of the good mood. We started the wWine tasting was provided after the excellent foodwell-fed, the only inconveniences were the high number of the groups and the excessive good mood. The last bus wenttransfer back to Pécs left Villány after midnight. The funny experience of the evening was that the Ruomanians and Hungarians like to amuse the most.
The next day theSaturday morning sections started at 9:30 am strictly, after that the participants said goodbye to each other after lunchat noon. The post-congress tours participants learned about the jewels of Pécs and Baranya during the afternoon.
The prior first experiences of the Congress:
• Based on the presentations, conversations negotiations and business meetings there was an understanding consensus about the appreciation of Central European internal commercial and economical processes. Vesna Trnokop-Tanta, Vice Commissioner presented the region's area's economic interdependence comparing traffic Monarchy trading data figures from this year and the currentthat time. Schenz Vice President pointed out, that the peoples of Central Europe were the forerunners of the Union at in the time of the Monarchy, it is the time to recognize the common interests. President, Kristóf Szatmári ended his presentation that at the time of the disintegration of the Monarchy national aspirations and differences efforts were greater stronger than affinityrelations. Today’s the world is distended expanded and globalization made us realize that there are much more things in the region towhich binding us together than to separatebefore. In the eyes of the world’s eye the Central European countries and their cultures are not much different.
• It was recognized agreed that in the domesticinternal trade development in Central Europe, exploring each other's markets in the region area is vital for small and medium sized businessesenterprises. The cChambers increase their activity in this areafield. On the Congress accompanying B2Fair business meetingmatchmaking event there were registered 382 negotiations registered, the successful discussions shows confirmed that there isare very high potentials in the region's internal turnover.
• It was recognized agreed that the union should be jointly preparation is required for the next programming period of the EU, with by creating of Central-European projects in order to assist the region to adapt the substance of thesupport regional development within the Union. In that the emergingDeveloping internal relationscontacts, and networking can help in the same way as the success of the Danube, the strategy's success.
• It was recognized also agreed that it is worthy to continue thatwith the Congress should continue combined with B2Fair business meetings for which and both Zagreb and Vienna reported signed up as organizers.

Pécs launches the year of European Capital of Culture 
Ten thousands of people gathered in the historical main square of the city to follow the opening ceremony of the European Capital of Cultural programme series.
Industrial parks’ joint effort to reach out to investors
A cooperation agreement has been signed by the three industrial areas of Pécs, namely the Pécs, the South and the Pannova Industrial Parks.
The first infrastructural developments in the southern area of the city have been completed
Pécs – The city itself has benefited from the developments even if there were no further constructions in the area as the new road and bicycle path allows us to explore the city from a new direction, making it more accessible, said Zsolt Páva, Mayor of Pécs, at the inauguration ceremony of the infrastructural developments of the South Industrial park.
The new opportunity for the region: Pécs Health Industry Innovation Centre
One of the state-of-the-art research and innovation centres of the country is being built in Pécs.
The outstanding investment of the Pole programme in Pécs is to determine the development of Pécs and the region for the forthcoming decades. The Pécs Health Industry Innovation Centre, with a biotechnology, pharmaceutics, medical ITC and incubation services profile, will cost three billion forints and is expected to be completed by 2011.
The foundations of the Science Building were laid
On 1 September 2009 the foundations of the Science Building, closely related to the Pécs Pole Programme were ceremonially laid by Róbert Gábriel, Rector of the University of Pécs, Csaba Molnár, head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Katalin Szili, President of Parliament, Zsolt Páva, Mayor of Pécs and István Varga, Minister of National Development and Economy.
Hotel developments for the year 2010
Some actions are spectacular, some take place just behind the walls, and still remarkable hotel developments have been carried out in the last quarter of 2009. Those interested were informed about the developments at the Marketing Club meeting of the Chamber of Commerce.
Private clinic on the Mecsek hillside
The private clinic, a one billion forint investment, at one of the most beautiful spots of Pécs, adjoining the Hotel Kikelet, will open its gates in June 2010.
